With the theme: "TCCians: Be Involved, Get Evolved, Forging Bonds Towards Success", TCC held its general orientation for freshmen students collaborated and made possible by the Supreme Student Council, Student Body Organization, and SSC Task Force held at Tagoloan Community College court on 20th of August 2024.
The event formally commenced with a warm welcome from Mr. Vincent Janu Razalo, Dean of Student Affairs and Services Main Campus. "Excellence is not just about achieving high grades. It's about the attitude we bring to every task, the integrity we maintain in our actions, and the compassion we show to others. As we start this new chapter, I encourage you to embrace the opportunities that come your way. Face challenges with courage. And always keep your goals in sight," he said.
Moreover, Hon. Atty. Nadya Emano-Elipe, OIC College President, imparted an inspirational message saying that upon her arrival, the number of students filled her with conflicting emotions. However, her anxiety was outweighed by her happiness to see so many young students eager to learn and pursue better opportunities in life.
"I believe your faculty, your professors, and your dean, you are in the right hands. They will strive to give you the right knowledge, right training, and right skills so when you graduate from Tagoloan Community College, you can face the world, you can go anywhere, and you will be able to achieve your dreams and your aspirations," she added.
The audience was mesmerized by the TCC Tamaraw Pep Squad, Security Squad, TCC Silent Drillers, SSC, SBO, and program presidents' engaging performance. After which, the introduction of Administration and Academic Officers and introduction of board of trustees, academic (faculty), and administration (staff) led by Ms. Merilyn Tangon, Vice President for Administration.
Furthermore, the oath-taking of newly elected SSC, SBO, and CSO was also led by Hon. Atty. Nadya Emano-Elipe and the acceptance speech led by Mr. John Rey Talaid, SSC President. The orientation of Student Services was introduced by the DSA Main Campus. Followed by the introduction of basic school policies by Mr. Leoniel Sulapas, Dean of Student Affairs and Services Malaiba Campus Extension, emphasizing the TCC courtesy, dress code, and wearing the right uniforms.
The head of the school registrar, Ms. Grace Valde, explained the functions of the office of the college registrar, enrollment requirements, and reminders to all students. Subsequently, Mr. Arnel Llemit, UNIFAST Focal Person, and Mr. Leopaldo Salas explained thoroughly the Unified Student Financial Assistance and the Tulong Dunong Program.
