With the theme: "Pag-ugmad sa Bulowanong Kahibalo Sumbanan sa Pag Kab-ot sa Damgo," the College of Hospitality Management conducted the 12th Himamat 2024, held on the 13th of September at Tagoloan Community Collegeโ€™s covered court.
To commence the said event, BSHM walked down memory lane, presenting a video presentation of last year's Himamat 2023 showcasing the pride of the College of Hospitality Management. Mr. Ludger Hope Salivar, College Dean, expressed his opening and welcome address. "Always remember, pag-antos para makab-ot ang mga damgo," Mr. Salivar said. Vice President for Administration, Ms. Merilyn Tangon, also imparted her message, reminding everyone that we must remain humble.
Moreover, an entertaining intermission number was presented by the classroom officers of every level, first-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, followed by the mass dance headed by the Student Body Organization (SBO), participated by everyone grooving as the music played. After that, the SBO Governor, Mr. Janjalani Sacala, led the club and classroom officer oath.
The guest speaker, Jessie Jurilla, shared his story about how he was trained to cook and prepare for the visitors as a kid until he achieved his dreams, inspiring the audience to pursue the things they wanted.
Mr. Vincent Janu Razalo, Dean of Student Affairs and Services, imparted his inspirational message, uplifting the students' spirits to continue pursuing their dreams with dedication and passion. This was followed by the head of the school registrar, Ms. Grace Valde, explaining the functions of the college registrar's office, enrollment requirements, scholarship grants, and reminders to all students. Subsequently, SBO Adviser CIT, Mr. Joniel Padilla, presented a walk-through of the TCC Student Information System.
Furthermore, Mr. Nelson Englatera, Guidance Counselor; Ms. Desiree Joy Velez, School Nurse; Mr. Arnel Llemit, UniFAST Focal Person; Mr. Ludger Hope Salivar, College Dean; Mr. Juvic Labrador, SBO Adviser; Ms. Marjorie Gonzales, Laboratory in-charge, Ms. Charise Pabayo, and Ms. Judith Awatin, THI-Step organization adviser, elaborated and enlightened the students about the guidance services offered by the Guidance Counseling and Services, school clinic services, curriculum presentation, HM uniform policies, HM Laboratory rules and regulation, community extension services, and HM related activities, respectively.
As the event drew to a close, Mr. Janjalani Sacala, SBO Governor, expressed his heartfelt closing remarks, emphasizing his gratitude to all the students who participated and everyone who supported this successful event.
