TCC Grounds, November 26, 2024 โ The TCC intramurals celebrated their annual Mr. and Miss TCC pageant, themed "Rise as One: Forging Legends, Building Champions, and Soaring Higher in Sports Leadership." Ms. Reche Osma Tan, the Director of Socio-Cultural Affairs, formally opened the event at the TCC grounds, and Hon. Armando Pomar, the Municipal Councilor, followed with a message.
Princess Diana Marie A. Maturan and Iryl Fritz P. Dela Cruz, paired contenders from the College of Information Technology, claimed this year's Mr. and Miss TCC titles.
Maturan and Dela Cruz, hailed as dark horses of the competition, secured their crowns with remarkable wit and poise during the pageant's question-and-answer segment. They succeeded last yearโs titleholders from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), who passed the crowns to the same college pairing for the first time in two years.
In an exclusive interview after their victory, Maturan and Dela Cruz shared their thoughts on the significance of their titles. Maturan shared that her new title symbolizes more than just victory; it embodies the value of sportsmanship and the importance of humanity in every contest. Dela Cruz echoed her sentiments, expressing his commitment to use his title as a platform for spreading awareness on crucial student issues and serving as a voice for his peers.
The runners-up for Mr. and Miss TCC 2024 included female representatives from the College of Education and the Midwifery program and male runners-up from the Criminology department and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).
